Students perform plays with incredible end-of-year performances. K-1 will be doing a 10 minute curtain warmer performance, 2nd -5th graders will be performing Disney’s Winnie the Pooh, and 6th – 8th graders will be performing Disney’s Moana. \u003C\u002Fp>\u003C\u002Fli>\u003Cli>\u003Cp>Design students will receive one on one training to learn how to properly build set pieces and props that are both functional and structurally sound. \u003C\u002Fp>\u003C\u002Fli>\u003Cli>\u003Cp>Design students will have the opportunity to work on some costume construction and accessories, as needed for the programs. \u003C\u002Fp>\u003C\u002Fli>\u003Cli>\u003Cp>During each of the separate K-8 musical performances, design students from this class will serve as the stage crew. They will execute the behind the scenes work which may include moving pieces on and off the stage, taping microphones to the actors, and serving as “runners” for the directors.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003C\u002Fli>\u003C\u002Ful>\u003Cp>Schedule:\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cul>\u003Cli>\u003Cp>\u003Cstrong>Monday, Tuesday\u003C\u002Fstrong>\u003C\u002Fp>\u003C\u002Fli>\u003C\u002Ful>\u003Ch2>Set Design & Stage Crew (High School, grades 9-12)\u003C\u002Fh2>\u003Cul>\u003Cli>\u003Cp>Design students will spend the school year working towards fulfilling the set design needs for the High School Musical Theater (HSMT) Program. Next year, they will be performing Anastasia. Occasionally, these students will also assist with helping the K-8 musical programs. \u003C\u002Fp>\u003C\u002Fli>\u003Cli>\u003Cp>Design students will receive one on one training to learn how to properly build set pieces and props, that are both functional and structurally sound. \u003C\u002Fp>\u003C\u002Fli>\u003Cli>\u003Cp>Design students might have an opportunity to receive training in woodwork from a licensed contractor.  \u003C\u002Fp>\u003C\u002Fli>\u003Cli>\u003Cp>Design students might also have the opportunity to work on some costumes and accessories, as needed for the musical. \u003C\u002Fp>\u003C\u002Fli>\u003Cli>\u003Cp>Design students will become Mrs. Harbert’s assistant directors. They will be assigned specific scenes from the musical. They will work on completing all that scene’s set pieces from start to finish.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003C\u002Fli>\u003Cli>\u003Cp>Design students will get opportunities to share time with the other High School students who are performing in the musical. They’ll share community time in the mornings, have a Visual Arts class midday (That will be taught be a different Art teacher), and then everyone will have lunch together. \u003C\u002Fp>\u003C\u002Fli>\u003Cli>\u003Cp>In addition, during the Visual Arts class, the performing students will join in on the projects that the design students are currently working on.
